Airquee joined forces with Danco PLC to create a spectacular bespoke inflatable Ice Dome for the official launch of Icescape at the Badminton Horse Trials in South Gloucestershire.
With more than 40 years of experience, Danco is one of the UK’s leading marquee suppliers, working with major companies, event organisers and festivals. For its latest venture, Managing Director Adrian Dann worked closely with Airquee’s design team to develop a bespoke structure that would make an impact while meeting the practical demands of a large-scale ice rink.
The result was a custom-made, fully inflatable Ice Dome, designed and manufactured by Airquee specifically for Danco.
The impressive igloo-style structure brought everything required for the Icescape experience under one roof. The bespoke design provided space for the real ice rink, skate hire, lighting, staff areas, a fully functioning bar and PA system, creating a complete event venue within one inflatable building.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the Ice Dome is constructed from 5m x 10m sections, allowing its overall length to be scaled depending on the event, location or application.
The semi-permanent structure also incorporates Airquee’s sealed, airtight tube technology. Unlike continuously inflated structures, the sealed tubes remain inflated if electrical power is interrupted, helping the building stay in position until power can be restored.
The project brought together Danco’s extensive events experience, Icescape’s expertise in real ice rink installations and Airquee’s specialist knowledge of large-scale inflatable structures.
From the initial design meetings through to the launch at Badminton, the Ice Dome demonstrated how a bespoke inflatable concept from Airquee can become a practical, scalable and visually impressive event space.
