Once your order is confirmed, the Airquee team will provide an estimated production lead time and keep you updated throughout the whole process.

Safety

Do inflatables need PIPA testing?

If you are planning to operate a commercial inflatable in the UK, it should be tested to confirm it meets the relevant safety standard before being used. In addition, commercial inflatables should undergo an annual safety inspection and be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's guidance.

If you're unsure whether your inflatable requires PIPA testing, we will be happy to advise.

Do you need insurance to operate commercial inflatables?

If you operate a commercial inflatable, having appropriate insurance is strongly recommended and is often required by venues, local authorities, and event organisers.

Public liability insurance is the most common type of cover, helping protect your business in the event of injury or damage. You should also ensure your inflatable is regularly inspected, properly maintained, and operated in line with the manufacturer's guidelines. I

Can inflatables be used in the rain?

Commercial inflatables can be used in light rain, but they should always be operated safely and in line with the manufacturer's guidance. Wet conditions can make surfaces slippery, so operators should assess the weather conditions and stop if safety could be affected. After use in wet weather, the inflatable should always be fully dried before storage to help prevent damage as well as the build up of mould and mildew.

What is the maximum wind speed for a commercial inflatable?

In the UK, commercial inflatables should not be operated in wind speeds exceeding 24 mph (38 km/h), including gusts, unless the manufacturer specifies a lower limit.

Inflatable operators should continuously monitor weather conditions, ensure the inflatable is correctly anchored, and stop use immediately if wind speeds approach the maximum operating limit or if conditions become unsafe. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and current UK safety guidance.

Can adults use inflatables?

Yes, but only if the inflatable is specifically designed and rated for adult use. Commercial inflatables are manufactured with different size, weight, and user capacity limits, so it's important to follow the manufacturer's guidance at all times. Airquee offers a wide range of commercial inflatables suitable for children, adults, or mixed-age use.

What is the minimum age for using an inflatable?

The minimum age for using an inflatable depends on the type of inflatable, its design, and the manufacturer's guidance. Some inflatables are specifically designed for toddlers and younger children, while others are suitable for older children, teenagers or adults. Operators should always follow the recommended age, height, and weight limits provided with the inflatable to ensure safe use at all times.

How many children can fit in an inflatable?

The number of children an inflatable can accommodate depends on the size, design, and user capacity of the product as set out in BSEN14960. Smaller toddler inflatables may suit fewer children, while larger commercial inflatables such as obstacle courses, slides, and multiplay units can accommodate more users at any one time. Every Airquee inflatable is supplied with recommended user limits to help operators manage capacity safely.

Are Airquee commercial inflatables certified to UK safety standards?

Yes. Airquee commercial inflatables are manufactured to meet all relevant UK and European safety requirements. Our inflatables are built with safety, durability, and reliability in mind. We also provide all the documentation and guidance needed to ensure customers are compliant at all times.
