The World's Biggest Inflatable Pizza Delivery!

Monkey Island was one of Airquee’s most ambitious bespoke inflatable projects – a colossal 3,000kg attraction created for a touring festival across Germany.

Conceptualised by German agency Piece of Cake for pizza.de, the brief was to transform an ambitious creative idea into a spectacular inflatable attraction suitable for a series of major music festivals.

From concept to reality

Airquee joined the project relatively late but our technical expertise and proactive approach quickly impressed the Piece of Cake team.

Within just 72 hours, detailed discussions covered everything from CAD design and materials to manufacturing, safety and operation. Airquee's designers then developed the concept into a practical inflatable structure while maintaining the visual impact of the original idea.

The biggest challenge was time. The project was confirmed at the end of April 2014, with the first event taking place in Leipzig just weeks later.

Despite the scale of the inflatable and an already busy production schedule, Airquee completed the project ahead of schedule, with almost the entire attraction arriving three days early.

Festival ready

Airquee's team travelled to Leipzig to assist with installation before Monkey Island underwent an extensive inspection by TÜV and local safety officials.

Following three hours of thorough testing, the inflatable and its operating procedures received full approval, with particular praise for its construction and design given the exceptionally tight timescale.

The first festival proved a huge success, with Monkey Island creating exactly the kind of unforgettable spectacle the project had set out to achieve.

Monkey Island demonstrated Airquee's ability to turn even the most ambitious concepts into safe, practical and visually spectacular inflatable attractions – on time and without compromising on quality.
